[A Wise Samkwang Life – Episode 75] Meet Daehyung Park from the New Business Development Part, Samkwang Global Development Center!** Author사내기자 Date2026.10.08 Hit23

Hello, everyone!

I’m Daehyung Park from the New Business Development Part at the Global Development Center. It’s great to meet you!

The chilly season has arrived, bringing cold winds with it. I hope everyone at Samkwang stays warm and takes good care not to catch a cold!

As I sit down to write this, memories of my very first day at work suddenly come flooding back. One of the moments I remember most clearly is when I first spoke with Min Hong, who joined the company at the same time as I did.

Since this is my first job and everything was unfamiliar, I was quite nervous at first. But just knowing that there was someone else starting this new journey alongside me made me think, “At least I’m not alone.”

Even now, we ask each other about things we don’t know and talk about what happened at work, supporting each other along the way. We’re both still getting used to everything, but having someone to talk to has been a much bigger source of support than I expected.

It has already been almost three months since I joined Samkwang.

I still remember how overwhelmed I was during my first few weeks, constantly taking notes on all the unfamiliar terms I was hearing. After going through OJT in several different departments, however, I now feel much more familiar with the workplace and how things operate on site. I’ve also gotten to know the company so well that I think I could draw a fairly detailed map of the headquarters now!

More than anything, learning about the roles of each department and how they work together has helped me develop a broader understanding of the overall process through which products are developed and manufactured. I think that has been one of the biggest changes for me since joining the company.

During my OJT, I had many memorable experiences across different departments, but the one that stands out the most was getting hands-on measurement practice with the Quality Team.

I had the opportunity to use measurement equipment such as OMM and CMM, which I had rarely encountered before, to measure the actual dimensions of products. I was particularly impressed by how carefully even tiny deviations as small as 0.01 mm were measured and checked.

I had previously been advised that checking product dimensions is especially important in development work, so I made an extra effort to focus and learn as much as I could during the training.

Before joining the company, I once came across a passage in a book that said, “Whether you like it or not, you spend half of your day—and half of your life—at work.”

The next line said, “If that’s the case, shouldn’t the time you spend at work be enjoyable if you want half of your life to be enjoyable?”

As someone just beginning my professional career, those words really stayed with me and made me think about the kind of attitude I want to have toward my working life.

I want to work with a smile and a positive attitude! I also hope to become someone who brings good energy to the people I work with.

At Samkwang, rather than trying to be someone who can do everything perfectly right away, I want to grow into a professional who clearly understands my responsibilities and steadily fulfills my role one step at a time.

There is still a lot I don’t know, but I will continue to ask questions whenever I’m curious, learn as much as I can, and gradually make that knowledge my own.

Ultimately, I hope to become someone who is enjoyable to work with and, at the same time, someone others can trust and confidently rely on.

I look forward to working with all of you!

Without hesitation, I would choose **“perfectly thick hair for life!”**

Back in college, there was a time when I was under a huge amount of stress because I was working on my graduation project while also preparing for exams. One day, I was taking a shower and looked down at my hands after washing my hair… and there were strands of hair caught between every single one of my fingers. I still remember the shock!

For a while, I even started taking hair-loss medication because I kept thinking, “Wait… could this be happening to me too?” Haha.

That experience made me realize the importance of having healthy hair much earlier than I ever expected.

I’ll do my best to take care of my skin—but as for my hair, I just hope it stays with me for the rest of my life!
