[Tuesday, March 3, 2026 ~ Friday, March 6, 2026] Samkwang Co., Ltd. participated in the “RetailTech Japan 2026” exhibition held in Tokyo, Japan. RetailTech Japan 2026 is Asia's largest specialized exhibition for retail digital transformation (DX). It is an annual event sharing cutting-edge technology trends such as PDS, AI data analysis, and digital signage. Team Leader Kim Hyung-joo from Samkwang's Technology Research Institute and Professional Jo Han-sol from the New Business Team attended. This visit was conducted at TMN's invitation to review solutions related to the UT-X20 payment terminal co-developed with Samkwang and to understand trends in the Japanese payment market. Currently, Japan's payment terminal market is seeing a steady increase in adoption rates driven by government initiatives. Terminal lineup expansion and the development of cloud and AI-based services are intensifying price competition in the terminal market. At the exhibition, the UT-X20, jointly developed with Samkwang, received positive feedback from booth visitors based on its unique features and design. TMN plans to expand its customer base and promote sales of the UT-X20, while Samkwang will support sales growth through quality management and technical support. The potential for a new payment terminal business targeting the Japanese taxi market was also discussed. TMN is considering introducing payment tablets to some taxi platform companies, and Samkwang plans to review the possibility of participating in the business through future confirmation of specific specifications and development cost negotiations. Through attending this exhibition, Samkwang Co., Ltd. gained insight into the latest technological trends and business opportunities in the Japanese payment terminal market. Moving forward, the company plans to strengthen cooperation with global partners and continue its efforts to expand into overseas markets, including Japan, based on its technological competitiveness.
