Samkwang explores digital transformation and collaboration for AI adoption, and begins future strategy through practical consulting Author사내기자 Date2025.07.10 Hit80

[Samkwang held a hands-on consulting meeting to establish an AI-based digital transformation strategy with Gyeongbuk IT Convergence Technology Institute, Daegu Digital Innovation Promotion Agency, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, Ingrid, Big Wave, and other specialized organizations and companies.

The consultation was held to discuss the direction of AI adoption to strengthen manufacturing competitiveness and explore the possibility of practical support and collaboration in the future, based on the establishment of a cooperation system and sharing of expertise among organizations.

The meeting was attended by  SPR Kim Cheol-soo, Global MD, Advisor Yang Chun-geum, Samgwang, Song Ho-yeol, Executive Vice President, Global Management Support, Choi Jin-young, Executive Vice President, Global New Business, and Kim Hyung-hyung, Business Head, Global AD, as well as employees from the Global IT team and Global Management Support team.

The consulting started with AX practical consulting, followed by introductions to Samkwang's company and institutions (Gyeongbuk IT Convergence Technology Institute, Daegu Digital Innovation Agency), and a line tour of the headquarters (injection, mold, and assembly).

The main topic of the consultation was what direction Samkwang should take to effectively introduce AI technology into its business environment.

“There are many uncertainties in the manufacturing industry, especially about how to utilize AI and what direction to take,” said Kim Cheol-soo, Global MD, “We would like to share our concerns through this consulting and discover practical tasks to build Samkwang's AI-based manufacturing competitiveness.”

In response, each organization emphasized, “Currently, AI technology is mainly advanced in large enterprises, and in order to be applied to small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in earnest, core operating systems such as MES and ERP must be systematically operated before AI can be introduced.”

In addition, “In fact, about 95% of the data held by companies is often unstructured data or low-quality data that is difficult to analyze or utilize, and AI is a strategic technology that enables prediction and optimization based on data, not just automation tools, so systematically maintaining this part is the starting point for AI introduction.”

Through this practical consulting, Samkwang has become a strategic starting point for securing future competitiveness through AI and digital capabilities, and will continue to actively seek a long-term cooperation system to build an AI-based smart manufacturing environment.
